PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles and Commanders defenses took center stage in a low-scoring first half as Washington leads Philadelphia 7-3 at the break.
Jalen Hurts, 10 of 19 for 101 passing yards in the first two quarters, went into the blue medical tent prior to the half as he was being evaluated for a head injury. At halftime, Hurts jogged out of the blue medical tent and into the locker room.
The Commanders punted on four of their first five possessions in this one, but scored the only touchdown of the game when Brian Robinson Jr. scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter to put them up 7-0. The Eagles defense has held Jayden Daniels to 8 yards rushing in the opening 30 minutes.
Jake Elliott has missed two field goals for the Eagles, the first time he’s missed a pair in a game since 2019. Elliott missed attempts from 44 and 51 yards in the first half, and has fallen to 0 for 4 on 50+ yard field goals this season. Elliott did hit a 21-yard field goal with 19 seconds left in the first half to cap off a 15-play, 87-yard drive for the Eagles to put them within 7-3.
There wasn’t a lot of scoring in the first half, but the second half should provide more fireworks with first place in the NFC East on the line.
