FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University’s women’s golf team will start the spring portion of its schedule Monday morning as the Eagles take part in the Sea Best Invitational, hosted by Jacksonville University at San Jose Country Club.
The Eagles will be trying to recapture some of the magic that led to a 46-1 record in the Fall. The Eagles won the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Pat Bradley Invitational and the Diamante Intercollegiate. In their fourth and final tournament of the Fall season, the Eagles finished second at the Hurricane Invitational to host University of Miami.
FGCU’s lineup will have one change from the fall season as Grace Rigby-Walden competes for the first time in 2024-25 for the Green and Blue.

Gauthier had a busy winter competing in South America. First, she finished in ninth out of 60 competitors at the Women’s Amateur Latin America presented by The R&A and the ANNIKA Foundation Nov. 21-24. The Uruguayan then represented her country in the Los Andes Cup Nov. 27-30. In her next event, Gauthier won by five strokes at the Montevideo City Open in her native Uruguay Dec. 5-7. She would begin the new year with a 14th place finish at the South American Amateur Open in Chile.
In addition to FGCU, the tournament field includes Coastal Carolina, Daytona State, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Southern, Holy Cross, Illinois State, Lipscomb, Navy, Richmond, Seminole State, South Alabama, Stetson and USC Upstate.
The tournament tees off with 36 holes scheduled for Monday followed by a single round Tuesday.
