DURHAM, NC — Cameron Indoor was bumping on Saturday night as North Carolina made the eight-mile drive from Chapel Hill to Durham to take on Duke. The Blue Devils entered the contest rolling on a 14-game win streak while the Tar Heels have lost three of their last four games.
Although UNC has multiple five-stars on its roster, they are undoubtedly down this year, struggling with roster inefficiencies across the board, and fighting to make the NCAA Tournament. It couldn’t be more different for Duke. The Blue Devils have a stacked and well-constructed roster, loaded with freshman talent and experienced transfers.
The game wasn’t close. In front of a packed Cameron Indoor, on national television, and in front of numerous NBA front office personnel. Duke jumped out to a 25-8 lead and steamrolled the Tar Heels. The game was over by the first half as the Blue Devils rolled to a comfortable 87-70 win.
Beyond the result, there is much to take away from the game from an NBA Draft perspective. There were multiple first-round picks on the court on Saturday night in Durham. Here are the draft grades for each player based on their performances from the first edition of the rivalry matchup.
