Driving range and practice area of new county-owned golf course on track for fall opening
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile County Commissioner Randall Dueitt said the driving range and practice area of a new county-owned golf course is on track to open this fall.
Cypress Creek Golf Course, formally the Linksman Golf Club of Mobile, is undergoing a $13.7 million overhaul after the facility was closed for years.
Commissioner Dueitt said the course is sorely needed for the county’s high school students and allows golf teams to host tournaments for a minimal fee.
A spokesman for the county commissioner said the rest of the 18-hole course, which is located off Riviere Du Chien Road, will be finished by next year.
