MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – One person was rushed to the hospital Friday night after crashing a sports car into several trees in Miami Beach.
According to Miami Beach police, the single-vehicle crash was reported at 6:53 p.m. in the 6400 block of Collins Avenue.
Video shows several good Samaritans rushing over and trying to get to the driver before emergency personnel arrives.
Police said the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was injured and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by the Miami Beach Fire Department.
Witnesses said a dog that was inside the car ran away after the accident.
A woman who lives at a condominium building across the street from where the crash occurred told Local 10 News that she didn’t see it happen, but said people often speed up and down Collins Avenue.
Further details about what led up to the crash have not been released. Police have also not yet released the driver’s identity.
