Position: PG | Salary: $10,300
Projections: 28.9 Points, 5.3 Rebounds, 5.6 Assists, 2.6 Stocks
While Oklahoma City is on a back-to-back, I’m still willing to pay up for Gilgeous-Alexander. The matchup with Miami isn’t the best, but when you have access to value plays at the $3,000 range, it’s easy to get to a guy like Gilgeous-Alexander. He’s one of the best players in the league, and if I can get two or three value guys, I’ll take my chances with Gilgeous-Alexander.
Position: PG | Salary: $7,400
Projections: 21.1 Points, 5.0 Rebounds, 4.7 Assists, 0.9 Stocks
Herro’s role is pretty consistent, and with only three games tonight, I’m confident that he can provide a solid ceiling at a reasonable price. Thunder-Heat is tough for both sides, but the scoring is likely to be there, and Herro is expected to see around 35 minutes of action. He’s highly owned, but I see no issue with rostering him today.
Position: PF/C | Salary: $5,400
Projections: 13.9 Points, 7.5 Rebounds, 1.7 Assists, 1.2 Stocks
Portis is projected to play around 24 minutes tonight. With Damian Lillard out, there’s a potential increase in offense for the team, and Portis could see more opportunities, especially when Giannis Antetokounmpo is off the floor. I’m willing to get to Portis as a strong mid-tier option.
Position: PF/C | Salary: $11,400
Projections: 34.2 Points, 11.6 Rebounds, 6.2 Assists, 2.4 Stocks
Giannis is the best pay-up option tonight, and I’m all in on him. With Lillard out, the offense is going to run through Giannis. The matchup against Cleveland is tough, with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen providing strong rim protection, but Giannis is a free-throw monster and can still dominate. If I’m paying up today, Giannis is my guy, especially with the increased role he’ll have without Lillard.
Position: PG | Salary: $3,000
Projections: 6.7 Points, 3.5 Rebounds, 2.9 Assists, 2.4 Stocks
Wright is expected to start in place of Lillard and is priced at the flat $3,000. On a three-game slate, getting a starter at the minimum price is a huge advantage, especially when he can easily hit 20 fantasy points, which is excellent for that salary. Wright unlocks the ability to pay up for stars like Giannis and Gilgeous-Alexander, making him my favorite value play tonight.
