The shopping options for Maricopa’s east side are going to look a little brighter soon.
Phoenix-based Legacy Development Partners submitted pre-application paperwork to construct a six-building shopping center on the northeast corner of Porter and Applegate Roads, according to public records obtained this week by InMaricopa.
The developer kept the details for Legacy on Porter slim, but what we do know is the shopping center will sit on 6½ acres just north of Copa Flats and is looking for a mix of retail and restaurant tenants.
The total retail space will amount to more than 40,000 square feet, while the dedicated restaurant space will total about 4,700 square feet.
A project narrative said the developer anticipates the project “will complement the area’s mixed-use vision” and will offer “new commercial options for Maricopa residents.”
A 2023 version of the paperwork included plans for a “low-cost neighborhood market,” but this information was absent from the latest filings.
A timeline for the development has yet to be determined.
