An insight into the unusual training programme to have been assigned to Barcelona star Pedri has on Thursday been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, and confirms that the Spanish international is benefitting from a less rest, more all out approach.
Pedri is for his part of course in the midst of a superb start to the new campaign.
Restored to his berth at the base of Barcelona’s midfield under the watch of Hansi Flick, the 22-year-old has looked back to his brilliant best, a welcome boost for all of a Blaugrana persuasion.
Crucially, Pedri appears to have put his long-running fitness problems behind him, allowing the former Las Palmas man to build up a consistent run of appearances, and form.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then one member of Hansi Flick’s staff deserves immense credit for as much.
As per MD:
‘A strength plan supervised by Julio Tous is allowing Pedri to play to his full satisfaction accumulating many minutes. The physical managers concluded that Pedri did not benefit from excessive rest but quite the opposite: stopping for two days predisposed him to injuries.’
