Citizen Bull and Gaming, the one-two finishers in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, and unbeaten Grade 3 winner Bullard were among the notable juveniles to work Saturday morning.
Citizen Bull drilled five furlongs in 59.4 seconds, which was the second-fastest of 59 works at the distance. Gaming worked five furlongs in 1:02.6.
Citizen Bull and Gaming are both trained by Bob Baffert. For Citizen Bull, this was his third work since beating his stablemate by 1 1/2 lengths in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on Nov. 1 at Del Mar. Gaming followed that runner-up finish with a third-place finish in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on Dec. 14.
Citizen Bull is 20-1 in Las Vegas as of Sunday night, and closed at 16-1 in the second pool of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager from Churchill Downs. Gaming, 28-1 in Las Vegas, closed at 21-1 in the second KDFW pool.
Bob Hope (G3) winner Bullard, perfect in two starts so far for trainer Michael McCarthy, worked five furlongs in 1:00.8. The Gun Runner colt is nominated to run in next Saturday’s San Vicente (G2) going seven furlongs at Santa Anita. Bullard was 33-1 in Las Vegas as of Sunday night and was 24-1 in the second KDFW pool.

In his last start he won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Ferocious (Flatter) worked three furlongs in 36.6 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Saturday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 24 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Gustavo Delgado.
Gaming (Game Winner), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Del Mar Futurity), worked five furlongs in 1:02.6 at Santa Anita on Saturday morning. It was the 44th fastest of 59 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Los Alamitos on Dec. 14 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Giocoso (Not This Time) worked four furlongs in 51.4 seconds at Fair Grounds on Saturday morning. It was the 40th fastest of 62 works at the distance. His previous work was four days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 8 for trainer Keith Desormeaux.
McKellen (McKinzie) worked five furlongs in 59.3 seconds at Palm Meadows on Saturday morning. It was the fastest of seven works at the distance.
