Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner and likely 2-year-old champion Citizen Bull worked a bullet at Santa Anita on Saturday morning. The son of Into Mischief, trained by Bob Baffert went six furlongs in 1:12.0, fastest of five over the distance.
The work was his sixth since returning to the work tab after the Breeders’ Cup, and his longest in that time frame. According to a Santa Anita news release earlier this month, Baffert was pointing Citizen Bull to the Robert B. Lewis at Santa Anita on Feb. 1. Nominations to the Robert B. Lewis, which offers 20-10-6-4-2 points for the Kentucky Derby, close Friday.
Citizen Bull was 14-1 in the third Kentucky Derby Future Wager pool at Churchill Downs as of 2:20 p.m. EST on Saturday. That pool opened Friday and remains open until 6 p.m. EST on Sunday. He was 22-1 in Las Vegas as of last Sunday.

Citizen Bull (Into Mischief), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2024 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, 2024 American Pharoah), worked six furlongs in 1:12.0 at Santa Anita on Saturday morning. It was the fastest of five works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Donut God (Into Mischief) worked four furlongs in 47.6 seconds at Palm Meadows on Saturday morning. It was the 12th fastest of 81 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he won the Inaugural going six furlongs on the main track at Tampa Bay Downs on Dec. 7 for trainer Brian Lynch.
Gaming (Game Winner), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Del Mar Futurity), worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Santa Anita on Saturday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 68 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed third in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Los Alamitos on Dec. 14 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Giocoso (Not This Time) worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Fair Grounds on Saturday morning. It was the third fastest of 18 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds.
