WALHALLA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested after a limo-style golf cart was stolen from a church in October following an investigation.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, they were notified of the theft on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Evidence obtained by deputies revealed that a female and male entered Calvary Church on Saturday, Oct. 5, and drove the cart off the property onto Highway 123.
Officials said the cart was recovered abandoned in a field on E. Street near E. Londsdale Street on the Utica Mill Hill near Seneca on Monday, Oct. 7. The cart was given back to the church.
Later, deputies identified the suspects as a 16-year-old girl and 20-year-old Michael Ian LeClear.
LeClear was arrested on Oct. 25 on a grand larceny charged. He was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center and released on Wednedsay, Nov. 6, on a $10,000 recognizance bond.
