A DeLand woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly couple was arrested Tuesday, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
Yvonne Wroblewski, 56, was charged with grand theft of more than $10,000 but less than $20,000, exploitation of the elderly $20,000 to under $100,000 and fraudulent use of personal identification. She was being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail Wednesday on $60,000 bail.
Wroblewski, an in-home caretaker, exploited a senior couple in DeLand, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
“She gained the trust of her victims and used their credit cards and bank accounts to the tune of up to $100,000,” the sheriff’s office Facebook post stated.
A warrant was issued for Wroblewski’s arrest, and on Tuesday a deputy spotted her car at an Internet cafe in DeLand where she was arrested, according to the social media post.
