A 46-year-old man from Palmerton was shot and killed Saturday evening at a strip mall in Whitehall Township, officials said.
The man, who was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds, Lehigh Valley Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a press release.
“I am ruling the manner of death a homicide,” he said, adding that an autopsy will be performed Monday. “I will not be releasing his name until the autopsy is complete to allow the family of the deceased to grieve privately.”
The Whitehall Township Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
The shooting occurred at about 6:05 p.m. in the parking lot of 1155 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.
