DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — Danville’s River District association has something in store that can really come in handy for folks this holiday season while supporting local businesses at the same time.
The district recently launched “River District Dollars.” It’s a digital gift card used to support local businesses during the holidays.
All you have to do is load money on the gift cards online and use them to shop away at select businesses in downtown Danville.
The River District Association says it’s a win-win for folks in the community and local business owners.

“We’re really trying to push people downtown for the holidays to shop from our local businesses. It’s really a great thing for the community. It makes our downtown more vibrant and so this helps them, and you get a little extra bonus money,” Kirsten Aherron said.
Folks can purchase a River District Dollars eGift Card for any value between $25 and $100.
Limit 1 bonus card per purchaser.
Bonus cards must be used within 90 days of issuance.
The offer is available while supplies last.
Folks who purchase a River District Dollars gift card between now and December 15 will also be entered to win a $500 River District Dollars gift card. To purchase a gift card click here.
