The Seattle Seahawks officially moved into first place following their Week 12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, and with the Los Angeles Rams being blown out on Sunday Night Football. As we are through 12 weeks of the regular season, it’s time to start truly focusing on what playoff seeding could start to look like.
As with all division winners, should the Seahawks finally claim their first NFC West crown since 2020 they will have an automatic playoff bid. As it stands right now, they would be the No. 3 seed in the NFC and playing host to the visiting Green Bay Packers.

There is still plenty of football to be played, and with how everyone in the NFC West is within a game or two of each other, plenty can change. The situation in this division is still incredibly volatile. Still, it’s hard to not start thinking about possibilities.
If the season were to magically end today, the Seahawks would have their first playoff game against the Packers since 2019, when Seattle had to travel to the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field. Green Bay defeated the Hawks 28-17, and to this day it was the furthest Seattle has gone in the postseason since.
Of course, this would also be the first playoff game the Seahawks have had at Lumen Field against the Packers since the monumental comeback win during the 2014 NFC Championship. Green Bay squandered a 19-7 lead with a little over two minutes left to play as Seattle triumphed 28-22 in overtime to return to the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks will look to keep the momentum going in Week 13 as they travel to the Meadowlands (the sight of their Super Bowl XLVIII victory) to take on the floundering New York Jets. Seattle has another date with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14, so a win over the Jets to keep them on top will be critical.
