EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The second annual Curing Kids Cancer Golf Cup took place on Friday, turning a day on the green into a powerful force for good.
The golf cup was a sold-out tournament with 132 golfers participating and raised over $45,000.
Curing Kids Cancer’s mission is to fund innovative research and treatments to find cures for all childhood cancers in our lifetime.
The non-profit organization has raised over $29 million since 2005.
The event took place at the Bartram Trail Golf Club.
Curing Kids Cancer is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to funding cutting-edge treatments for childhood cancers.
“I’m a firm believer in helping your community and am so excited to do what I can to support cancer research that will directly impact families in the CSRA,” said Ehrin Fairey, a realtor with Southeastern Residential who helped organize the event.
Founder of Curing Kids Cancer Grainne Owen, spoke to participants of the Golf Cup at the pre-tournament lunch and shared insights into how participation directly impacts pediatric cancer research.
