WORCESTER COUNTY, Md.- Changes are being made at the CRICKET Center in Worcester County.
Officials have announced that the agency will no longer be named the CRICKET Center but now the Worcester County Child Advocacy Center.
Although the name has changed officials say that their mission will remain the same; a child-friendly, safe, and neutral location in which local law enforcement and Child Protective Services investigators may conduct and observe forensic interviews with children who are alleged victims of crimes.
Lauren Cooper with the Worcester County Child Advocacy tells us why they decided to rebrand.
Cooper says “We wanted to have a new design that would give us more visible in the community. So we wanted people to know just by our name where we’re serving, who we’re serving, and how we’re serving them. So with the Worcester County Child Advocacy Center, the community knows who we’re serving.”
