MADISON, Ill. – For the second year in a row and the sixth time in 13 years, SIUE golf is champion at its own home tournament. The Cougars finished at 837 (277-276-284) to best a field of 18 teams at Gateway National Golf Links.

Wichita State finished four strokes back of SIUE at 841 (-11). Bradley was third at 846 (-6).

Brady Kaufmann finished second of 98 golfers, earning the highest finish of his career. It is his eighth career top 10 finish. With scores of 68-68-67 (203) he also broke the school record for career rounds in the 60s.

Alex Eickhoff finished fifth at 207 (-6), one short of his career low for 54 holes. Brent Reintjes finished 15^th at 210 (-3). Preston Bily tied for 44^th at 219. Max Bruening tied for 56^th at 222.

SIUE also had four individuals playing: Will Simpson tied for 44^th at 219. Parker Bruening tied for 62^nd at 223. Hayden Moore tied for 79^th at 228. Thomas Hereau finished at 240 to tie for 96^th.

Bradley’s Connor Hamm earned Individual Medalist honors with a 200, which is the third lowest 54-hole total in history of the tournament.

The Cougars continue their fall schedule at UT Martin’s Grover Page Monday and Tuesday.
