News 12’s “Cost Of team” has been tracking the price of eggs and showing you how to save money. Prices have been anywhere from $8 to $12, depending on how many eggs you buy.
One of our stories caught the attention of the Ibotta team. Ibotta is a free app that you download, and you can get money back on certain items you buy at the store when you scan your receipt or for online purchases through the app.
Ibotta is now working to help lower the burden of the price of eggs, by giving users cashback. The team says to check the app every Friday in February to see what the deal will be.
On Friday, Feb. 14, Ibotta gave out $2.50 on any brand of eggs. So, on Friday, check the app, redeem the promotion, buy the eggs, upload your receipt on the app, and then you get cash back.
News 12’s Kristie Reeter started using the app herself to test out deals like this and over the years has made over $431 in cashback.
