Year 7 students were the first to have their induction and complete a session in the brand-new facility.
The state-of-the-art suite was funded by Active Cornwall and is designed to encourage energetic living and increase fitness participation, particularly among girls.
All year groups are set to be inducted into the suite and will use it during PE lessons over the coming weeks.
The facility provides students with the opportunity to explore functional fitness and develop essential physical skills that support overall health and well-being.
It has a special focus on increasing girls’ participation in fitness, offering them the tools to become more engaged in physical activities.
Girls’ fitness clubs will be hosted by the school to further support students’ fitness journeys.
After Easter, these sessions will also be open to boys, offering inclusive opportunities for all students to get involved.

Staff members can also benefit from the facilities, with a club being run for them after school on Wednesdays.
The PE department at Pool Academy aims to provide a broad curriculum that acts as a vehicle for developing student well-being.
They offer various opportunities to participate in sport and develop students’ understanding of mental, social and physical well-being.
Extra-curricular opportunities are provided throughout the year, across a wide range of sporting disciplines, such as hockey, girls’ and boys’ football, rounders and athletics.
Nick Ward, principal at Pool Academy, said: “I was thrilled to see the positive response from our Year 7 class to the new functional fitness suite and it’s exciting to watch students take an active role in their fitness journey.
“The introduction of the suite is a real game-changer for the school, and we’re grateful to Active Cornwall for their support in funding this.
“We hope this facility will inspire students and staff to prioritise their health and well-being.”
Ofsted inspectors at the school noted: “Pupils feel safe at school and value the strong pastoral support they receive.
“The morning greeting helps pupils to have a positive start to the day.
“Pupils learn in quiet and calm classrooms, from a well-planned curriculum.”
