2025 four-star wing Amari Evans announced his commitment to Tennessee basketball on Friday night prior to his first game of his senior season. The four-star picked the Vols over Pittsburgh and Xavier.
Evans is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 80 overall player in the country. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native who is entering his second season with Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Ga. is ranked as the No. 18 overall small forward and the 11th-best player in the Peach State. Evans plans on signing during the early signing period later this month.
“I feel like Tennessee fits my game to a tee,” Evans told GoVols247 prior to announcing his decision publicly. “Everything they do and the way they play, I feel like I’m going to be able to fit right in and pick things up fast.
“I’m a hard worker, I’m tough, I’ll do anything to win and I’m reliable. High-level defender and a knockdown shooter with an unlimited motor. That’s Tennessee basketball.”
Here’s a look at what the Volunteers are getting in Evans and what it means for them as they continue to rebuild their roster for next season.
