Some countries have easy visa processes, while there are others that have a more complex process making travelling quite difficult. This happens because attaining the required documents can be quite cumbersome. And if you happen to be someone who holds a Qatari Passport, you are in for some brilliant news. Well, it was announced by the United States of America that it will now be admitting Qatar into its Visa Waiver Programme!
United States of America announced on September 24, Tuesday that Qatari citizens will now be able to travel visa-free for up to 90 days from December 1 onwards. Yes, this was revealed in a statement issued by the US Department of Homeland Security and Department of State. With this development, Qatar has become the first country to be admitted to the US Visa Waiver Programme. Yes, this was done as Doha meets the strict security requirements for joining.
It’s worth mentioning that in order to be admitted to the programme, it is important that the countries meet requirements on several issues. Yes, this includes law enforcement, immigration enforcement, counter-terrorism, document security, and border management. Qatar is the 42nd member of the programme following Israel in 2023 and Croatia in 2021. At this point, it should be noted that Qatar is open to US citizens for Visa-free travel from October 1 onwards. Yes, they will be allowed to stay up to 90 days instead of 30.
