Columbus native, Miss Ohio Stephanie Finoti runs for Miss America
Growing up poor, Stephanie Finoti defied what some saw as insurmountable odds to become Miss Ohio. Now she’s making a bid for Miss America.
In her run for the title of Miss America 2025, Columbus native Stephanie Finoti is proving herself to be a perfect fit.
Finoti, who wears the Miss Ohio 2024 crown, was declared one of three winners in Wednesday’s preliminary fitness round of the Miss America competition.
Along with Miss Wisconsin and Miss South Carolina, Finoti will receive a $3,000 scholarship.
Finoti, 22, is a graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School and recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in biomedical science and public health.
Her platform in her bid for Miss America is That STEM Girl, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to empowering and preparing the next generation of marginalized young women to enter the STEM-medical workforce.
The Miss America competition began Tuesday with personal interviews and preliminary rounds for both teens and misses contestants. The competition will continue with:
Preliminary rounds require a PageantVision subscription pass to watch, but the finals will be livestreamed for free at pageantvision.com and available on YouTube after the ceremony.
Voting for the Miss America pageant’s America’s Choice is live until Friday. The competitor with the highest number of votes will be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals.
Votes cost $1 each, and through Friday, all votes are doubled. Voting can be done online at missamerica.org/miss25.
