Travis Hunter is sure to be one of the top players selected in the 2025 NFL draft, so he may not have a ton of control when it comes to where he plays.
But this week the two-way Colorado star shared one of the teams he would love to play for.
During a recent interview on Kickin’ it With Dee, Hunter said he would be thrilled if he could stay in Colorado and play for the Denver Broncos.
“I wish I could go to the Broncos, just to stay in Colorado because so many people welcomed with open arms. They showed us love that we would never have gotten in a different spot,” Hunter said.
“I want to be the first pick. I never dreamed of it until a couple of years ago when I knew I had a chance to become the first pick. That became my main goal, to become the first pick. I don’t even care where it’s at.”
Hunter, who arrived in Boulder from Jackson State along with head coach Deion Sanders, is projected to go No. 1 on the Mock Draft Database, so there’s a decent chance he ends up with one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Denver is 2-2 and was projected to land the No. 11 pick by ESPN this week. FPI gives the Broncos just a 17% chance to land a top 5 pick, so the odds they land Hunter aren’t great as of now.
It’s also worth noting that Sanders made headlines in March when he said he would have some say in where Hunter and his son, quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders, would play. He has since backed off those statements.
Hunter is one of college football’s top wide receivers with 46 catches, 561 yards and 6 touchdowns. He’s also been credited with 16 total tackles, forced fumble and two interceptions as one of the top shutdown cornerbacks in the sport.
Hunter also indicated he would like to keep playing both ways in the NFL.
