Wherever Shedeur Sanders goes in the 2025 NFL draft, Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders’ influence will follow. We know Coach Prime only wants certain franchises for his youngest son, but if he doesn’t like what he sees from Shedeur’s coach in 2025, the New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy foresees Deion wanting to replace said coach.
“Will ‘Coach Prime’ do as he has threatened and try to block certain teams that he deems dysfunctional from drafting his son Shedeur Sanders as their next quarterback?
“If so, could those teams include either the Titans (No. 1 pick) or Browns (No. 2)?
“Whichever team drafts Shedeur, their head coach will inherit the large shadow of Deion as a potential high-profile vocal critic — Shedeur was coached by his father in high school and college — and a candidate to take over if things go sideways,” Dunleavy wrote.
Hearing this come from a New York publication is notable. Giants head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen are lucky to have survived the 2024 season and we know Shedeur would love to play with Malik Nabers, who the “Grown QB” has familiarized himself with.
CU alum Joel Klatt predicts the GMen trading up to the No. 1 pick to land Shedeur in the 2025 NFL draft.
“I don’t generally do this and it’s going to be the only trade of the first round. I’m trading the first pick. I think Tennessee trades the first pick for a combination of reasons and I believe that the Giants jump up to No. 1. From three to one and the New York Football Giants are in the number one spot,” Klatt said, per On3. “They do have a great relationship with Shedeur Sanders. They have vetted him out several times. I believe that it is reciprocal there and I think that the Giants move to No. 1 and take Shedeur Sanders with the number one pick in the NFL Draft.”
Does this all mean Coach Prime will one day coach the Giants? Deion has denied NFL interest unless he was coaching his sons.
So, maybe.
