JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas State University is looking to push for success straight out of college.
The school will be holding a career fair for students and alumni on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The Meet the Firms event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Red Wolf Convention Center.
The event specializes in industries including marketing, sales, hospitality, and communications.
Assistant Director of Career Development Chris Schroeder said he hopes the event will ease the nerves of college students looking for a job.
“Trying to get them comfortable so they can have that 5-minute conversation, learn about a company, and potential opportunities at that company,” Schroder said. “So when a student is sitting down at an interview with an employer, they are really prepared for it.”
Schroder said 15 local employers will be in attendance, and over 100 students are projected to start the job hunt.
