Former BYU quarterback and assistant coach Jason Beck crossed rival lines to join the Utah staff, bringing a much-needed reset after two seasons of quarterback injuries derailing the Utes. Beck led one of the top rushing attacks in the nation at New Mexico last season, with the Lobos topping the FBS at 6.67 yards per carry. Dual-threat quarterback Devon Dampier thrived under Beck, ranking third among non-running backs in rushing touchdowns (19), yards per carry (7.52) and rushing yards per game (97.17). Now, Dampier follows Beck to Salt Lake City, hoping to replicate that success in 2025.
