The Fighting Irish picked up a 23-10 win over No. 2 Georgia in its quarterfinal game, reaching 13 wins for the first time in program history. Penn State’s quarterfinal win shut down star running back Ashton Jeanty en route to a 31-14 victory to advance.
Thursday’s victor will play the winner of the matchup between No. 8 Ohio State and No. 5 Texas. Both teams will square off Friday in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
