How CFB fan bases (probably) reacted to the second CFP rankings | Before The Snap
For The Win’s Before The Snap returns with a sketch-comedy reaction to the second College Football Playoff rankings.
The stretch run to make college football’s first 12-team playoff is here, and the Week 12 schedule Saturday is littered with games that will impact the expanded postseason race.
The marquee matchup features No. 10 Georgia hosting No. 4 Tennessee in a mid-November SEC primetime tilt that involves the added implication of whether another loss eliminates the Bulldogs from the College Football Playoff conversation. The Volunteers are in the mix to secure either a bye in the CFP by winning the SEC championship or a home game for the CFP first round if they finish the season strong. The status of Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who left last week’s win over Mississippi State and was in concussion protocol this week, is worth monitoring.
Though there is only one other game Saturday between two ranked teams — No. 21 Missouri at No. 23 South Carolina — there are potential stumbling blocks for potential CFP contenders all over the map.
No. 1 Oregon is on the road at Wisconsin in prime time. No. 2 Ohio State is on the road against Northwestern at Wrigley Field. No. 3 Texas faces Arkansas in Fayetteville. Undefeated BYU hosts Kansas two weeks after the Jayhawks knocked off No. 25 Iowa State in their most recent game. No. 13 Boise State, the front-runner for the Group of Five spot in the CFP, plays at San Jose State and the Spartans haven’t lost at home yet this season.
