16. Michigan Wolverines (1-1) — The reigning national champions were dethroned by Texas 31-12 Saturday in Ann Arbor, snapping a 23-game home win streak. The Wolverines offense was lackluster again as quarterback Davis Warren completed 22 of 33 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.
17. LSU Tigers (1-1) — Garrett Nussmeier threw six touchdown passes — including three in the third quarter — to help LSU pull away from FCS Nicholls in the second half of a 44-21 win Saturday.
18. Arizona Wildcats (2-0) — After putting up massive offensive numbers against New Mexico in Week 1, Arizona was less productive against FCS Northern Arizona Saturday, escaping with a 22-10 win. A safety and a 56-yard touchdown run by Kedrick Reescano allowed the Wildcats to separate in the fourth quarter.
19. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-1) — The College Football Playoff hopes of the Fighting Irish took a major hit with a stunning 16-14 loss to Northern Illinois. It was the first win against a top-10 opponent in program history for the Huskies.
20. Clemson Tigers (1-1) — Cade Klubnik and the Clemson offense bounced back in a big way with a 66-20 blowout against pesky Appalachian State Saturday. Klubnik threw for five touchdowns and 378 yards in the win.
