Women’s Golf – Rookie of the Week – Madison Coffey
Madison Coffey was IC’s top finisher as she placed fourth overall with 160 (+16) after rounds of 82 and 78 at the St. Lawrence Invitational. Coffey shot the second-lowest round on Sunday out of 39 golfers as IC won the team title by 32 strokes with 654 (+78).

Brenna Schoenfeld tallied three points to open the 2024 season as she scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the second of the game as IC defeated No. 12 Kean, 4-0, on August 30.
Landon Hellwig scored a pair of goals in a 1-1 opening week for the Bombers. He was the lone goal scorer in the 2-1 loss to Eastern converting from the penalty spot with a clean finish past the Eagles goalkeeper and stayed hot scoring the game-winner against Wilkes on Monday. Hellwig netted the eventual game-winner in the 14th minute of the 5-0 non-conference win for his fifth collegiate goal of his career.
Bryson Shaull notched his first collegiate start in the Bombers second game of the season against Wilkes. Shaull ended up recording a shutout in the 5-0 victory for Ithaca as he ended up facing five shots where he made one save.
Kaelyn Fernandez jump started her season scoring a pair of goals in Ithaca’s season-opening 6-0 victory over Elmira. She totaled eight shots against the Soaring Eagles, placing five on target. She also recorded a shot in the 0-0 draw against York on Saturday.
Allie McCabe helped the Bombers get off to a 1-0-1 start, which included a win over Elmira. She netted just her third collegiate goal in the 40th minute scoring the sixth goal of the game against the Soaring Eagles when she pounced on a deflected corner kick chance and placed her shot attempt into the back of the net. The Bombers recorded shutouts against both Elmira and York College as the IC defense allowed 11 shots with just three placed on frame against the Spartans.
Faith Sabatier swung at an impressive clip in the season-opening Springfield Invitational that saw the Bombers go 2-1. In the season-opening sweep over (RV) Springfield, Sabatier connected on 10 of her 20 swings, with a match-best 10. She was even more impressive in the sweep over Rivier connecting on 7-0f-8 swings and also put up a service ace and notched three digs. In the tough five-set loss to Stevens she connected on nine more kills bringing her total to 29 to begin the 2024 season.
