Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka have been key figures of the WTA for many years now, with that situation not likely to change anytime soon.
The WTA enjoyed a record global audience in 2024, with the likes of Gauff and Sabalenka crucial to its growth.
Both players are now in California for Indian Wells 2025, which comes after the WTA launched its latest rebrand.
The Women’s Tennis Association late last month unveiled its new identity, led by its call to Rally the World.
With the rebrand, the tour aims to engage fans and inspire future generations, with Indian Wells its latest opportunity to do exactly that.
World number one Sabalenka is the top seed at the WTA 1000 event, with Gauff the second seed in California.
And having been asked in her opening press conference what she hopes to see with the rebrand, the latter said: “I think social content.

“Obviously I’m someone who is on social media a lot. A lot more TikToks and following the trends that a lot of the other sports are doing, which I know that WTA has a plan in place, and, you know, they ask for feedback and that was the main thing I noticed.
“I don’t personally watch TV or anything like that. That’s outside of my expertise, but I think TikTok I’m pretty good in. A lot more of TikToks of just players’ interaction.
“Hopefully some crossover content. I feel like the crossover content does well with ATP, so I would love to see some more crossover content.”
Gauff has been handed a tricky route to Indian Wells success, with Sabalenka and second seed Iga Swiatek among her potential opponents.
She gets her tournament underway in the second round, where she’ll play either Moyuka Uchijima or Emma Raducanu.

Sabalenka likewise has been handed a bye into the second round, with the Belarusian playing the winner of Anna Blinkova and McCartney Kessler.
Having also asked what she wants to see from the WTA rebrand in her opening press conference, the three-time Grand Slam champion said: “What I want to see? I want to see more fun and a little bit more structure, like, the way they represent us and show us, and I would like them to show our personalities a little bit more, just so people can actually see and know who we are outside of the tennis court.
“Of course I would like them to, if they post something and they do something on social media, they post better pictures of us, not where we’re looking like really ugly and wrong.
“But I think it’s a fresh start, and it was much needed for tennis. I hope it’s just a good beginning for our sport to explode a little bit better.”
