The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 2 of the college football season.

Some teams dominated and others had close calls. And as always, there were some upsets along the way. That’s just college football folks!

Let’s dive into the new Coaches Poll Top 25 following Week 2.

The Bulldogs were dominant once again, so it’s the same old story right? This a bonafide national title contender, of course.

Trevor Etienne returned this weekend following a one game suspension and ran for 78 yards on five carries. If he’s a standard part of the offense moving forward, it’s just another thing to worry about.

The Buckeyes were dominant against a non-Power Four opponent again, so nothing new here. But after this weekend, it’s clear this team is the best in the Big Ten through two games.

Things can change rapidly, but Ohio State hasn’t done anything to dissuade people that this is a title contender. A deserved high spot in the rankings.

Texas went into Ann Arbor and took control immediately. Michigan didn’t score a touchdown until late when it was already over.

Good luck stopping the Longhorns’ offense with Quinn Ewers and a plethora of running backs. Isaiah Bond showed out at WR this weekend too. National title contender confirmed.

Alabama struggled with South Florida once again before exploding for 28 points in the fourth quarter. What is it about Bulls that had a shade of green and gold?

Anyway, the Crimson Tide still ran away with it. This team will truly be tested in SEC play, so we’ll wait and see if those early problems will be indicative of something larger or nothing at all.

Ole Miss is an offensive juggernaut and it seems like Lane Kiffin just wants Jaxson Dart to keep airing it out this year. Keep that same energy in SEC play though.

Ole Miss is everyone’s darling again. Can this team make a run? Through two weeks it sure looks like an SEC dark horse and a CFP contender late this fall.

Oregon edged out Boise State in a thriller on Saturday night. While some might want to penalize the Ducks for a lackluster performance and a close call in two weeks, the coaches didn’t.

Dan Lanning and company are still loaded on paper and there’s a long season to go. Over the next 10 games, they might be proven right.

The Nittany Lions struggled with Bowling Green over the weekend but avoided the upset. Maybe we’ll credit that as a bit of a letdown following the big win at West Virginia to open the season.

So don’t panic Penn State fans! It could just be a blip on the radar. And as it stands right now, Penn State might be the top challenger to Ohio State.

Missouri has back to back shutouts to open the season. That’s impressive regardless of who you’re playing.

The de facto fun team in the SEC not named Ole Miss can certainly make noise again this year. If the defense holds and the offense runs through Brady Cook and Luther Burden, they’ll be dangerous.

Nico Iamaleava is a dog, you can’t deny that now. Two straight and weeks he looked like the best player on the field.

If he’s going to be this good, Tennessee is not a team to be trifled with. It seems like there are a bunch of teams that are vying to catch Georgia or at least be the breakout team in the SEC. Tennessee could be just that considering the Volunteers might have the best quarterback.

10. Utah (+1)

Utah opened Big 12 play with a 23-12 win over Baylor to improve to 2-0 on the season. It was a fast start considering the 17-0 lead after the first quarter.

Sure, the Utes had to hang on a bit, but it was still a solid win and Kyle Whittingham’s crew is in the top 10 going into mid-September.
