SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Next Monday and Tuesday it’s the President’s Bowl Basketball games at the Pentagon, where all 4 of the Sioux Falls public schools, both boys and girls get to play each other.
The football doubleheader proved to be a huge fund-raiser for the school system and lots of fun for the athletes. And this has provided a great opportunity for these hoopsters to play in front of more fans.
Luke Hannemann, Lincoln Boys BB Coach says, “Yes it’s definitely something that’s special. It’s just fun to get all levels out there at the Pentagon and when you get on that big Heritage Court you can tell that it increases the level a little bit. And so being out here for the Presidents Bowl is a great opportunity for guys to be showcased a little bit. In a different way than when we’re at our home gym.”
Jamie Parish, Washington Girls BB Coach says, “Any time you play at the Pentagon it’s special and unique. The way the place is set up, the fans are right down there on the floor so you get a little bit of noise. You get some people in there and they do it right. They dim the lights, play some music. And that’s something our kids don’t get anywhere else .”
There are 4 games Monday and 4 more Tuesday starting at 11 o’clock with the final tip at 5.
