JACKSON– The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) has announced that the 2023-24 Co-Lin Men’s Golf team achieved the highest GPA in the conference with an impressive 3.909. This remarkable accomplishment represents the highest GPA among all sports in the conference.
“Congratulations to the men’s golf team for earning the highest GPA in the MACCC,” said Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. “This is an outstanding accomplishment that highlights the dedication of these student-athletes and the coaching staff.”
The team’s roster includes Reese McLaurin and Myles Walters both of Laurel, Harlan Brewer of Wesson, Lander Guibert of San Sebastian, Spain; Jamie Hernandez of Palma De Mallorca, Spain; and Oscar Toreld of Binnerbäck, Sweden.
“These young men have set a new standard for academic excellence in our athletic program, “ added Nobile. “Their ability to balance rigorous academic demands with competitive athletics is commendable and embodies the spirit of what it means to be a student-athlete at Co-Lin.”
Toreld earned MACCC All-Conference Second Team honors for the season. Additionally, both Toreld and Guibert qualified for and completed their season at the NJCAA Gulf District Golf Tournament, held at Dancing Rabbit Country Club in Philadelphia, MS.
