The Manchester City Council has temporarily suspended its golf cart ordinance for review. At its regular meeting on January 6, the Manchester City Council voted to place a moratorium on the City of Manchester’s current golf cart ordinance. This decision stems from a range of concerns raised by the Administrative Team, the City Attorney’s Office, and those responsible for enforcing the ordinance. Issues cited include ambiguities in the ordinance’s definition of a golf cart and the lack of an effective tracking system for golf carts operating within the city.

The council plans to finalize a revised Golf Cart Ordinance by spring or summer 2025, ensuring it aligns with community needs and addresses the administrative and enforcement challenges. This updated ordinance is expected to provide greater clarity, improve tracking measures, and establish a comprehensive framework for regulating golf cart use within the city.
