The city of Clyde will be joining in a partnership with KemperSports to operate the Hanner Sports Complex, a Tuesday press release said.
The Hanner Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art outdoor sports and recreation facility. Construction was completed in 2023, and the complex is designed to serve as a regional sports destination and source of pride for the community, the KemperSports press release stated.
KemperSports, through its venues division, will utilize its expertise in marketing and sales and company connections to attract events in local, regional and national markets and drive growth for the facility.
“KemperSports is the right partner to help us establish The Hanner Sports Complex and one of the premier sports and recreation destinations in the state,” said Chris McGuire, city administrator. “Their expertise and personalized approach will help us maximize the potential of this new facility.”
The complex includes turf baseball and softball fields, multipurpose turf soccer and football fields, tennis courts, pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, a splash pad, a children’s playground and concession stands.
As part of the city’s collaboration with the Clyde school district, the complex will serve as the home fields for Clyde High School baseball and softball teams.
“The Hanner Sports Complex is positioned to become one of Texas’ most popular sports destinations,” said Steve Goris, senior vice president of KemperSports Venues.
“We are excited to work with the City of Clyde and the Clyde School District to implement innovative strategies that will bring this complex to life and drive significant community and economic impact,” Goris said.
KemperSports Venues specializes in the development and management of sports facilities nationwide. They manage 15 multi-sport facilities, which now include Hanner Sports Complex.
