Long Beach Poly freshman Loren Fearence has burst onto the scene in CIF Southern Section competition after winning the Moore League individual title last month.
Last week, Fearence went to Los Robles Greens for the CIF-SS Northern Girls’ Individual Tournament and advanced with a round of 70 and a 10th place finish.
On Thursday, Fearence advanced to the CIF State qualifier by shooting 74 at Temecula Creek Golf Club. She birdied the first hole with a long chip-in off the fringe, and stuck her approach shot within a few feet for birdie on the seventh hole. Fearence also had an amazing save for par out of the sand on the eleventh.
The CIF State Qualifier is Thursday at Los Serranos GC (North Course) in Chino Hills.
