The Angels opened Major League Baseball spring training on Saturday in the Cactus League. Los Angeles defeated Seattle, 11-10, at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.
Former Vol Christian Moore made his MLB spring training debut with the Angels. He played second base against the Mariners and went 1-for-3, recording one run and one strikeout.
Los Angeles will next play on Sunday in spring training. Cleveland will host the Angels at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. EST.
Moore was selected by the Angels in the first-round (No. 8 overall) of the 2024 MLB draft.
He appeared in 72 games for the Vols in 2024, recording a .375 batting average, 34 home runs, 74 RBIs, 83 runs and 38 walks during Tennessee’s national championship season.
Moore played for the Vols from 2022-24 and appeared in 186 games, totaling 61 home runs, 160 RBIs and 179 runs.
