Week 7 in the NFL — and more specifically in the AFC — has started with a bang.
Two of the Kansas City Chiefs’ in-conference foes made moves at wide receiver on Tuesday, beginning with the New York Jets.
Over the past few weeks, there had been rumblings of Adams’ discontent with the Las Vegas Raiders. As of Tuesday morning, he has a new home.
Following their 23-20 “Monday Night Football” loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Jets sent the Raiders a conditional third-round pick in exchange for Adams.
The move reunites Adams with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who played with him as a member of the Green Bay Packers. The third-round pick becomes a second-round pick if Adams is a first or second-team All-Pro — or if Adams is on the active roster for the AFC Championship game or the Super Bowl.
Coming off the other side of “Monday Night Football,” the Bills traded for now-former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Buffalo received Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round NFL Draft selection in exchange for a 2025 third-rounder and a 2026 seventh-rounder.
It’s worth noting that, to make room, the Bills released former Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who immediately becomes a free agent.
At the time of this writing, the Chiefs remain the favorites to win the AFC (+220), via FanDuel Sportsbook. The Chiefs are followed by the Baltimore Ravens (+370), Bills (+450) and Houston Texans (+550) — and then the Cincinnati Bengals and Jets (each +1700)
