PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Chicanos por la Causa (CPLC) is one of the largest Latino nonprofits in the country. The organization provides services to people of all backgrounds, including help with education.
So it’s Something Good when the nonprofit gives back, and one way is through its annual scholarship golf tournament!
CPLC’s annual Ronnie Lopez Scholarship Golf Tournament, presented by Food City, serves as the major fundraiser for the CPLC Scholarship Program and supports over 100 scholarships. Since 2020, over 300 students have been awarded scholarships to Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, and Maricopa Community Colleges.
The organization says three out of five scholarship recipients are first-generation college students.
One hundred golfers will participate in an exciting golf tournament to raise thousands of dollars this year. Last year, the first grand prize winner hit a hole-in-one!
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass.
