Charles Town released its final 2025 live racing calendar after approval by the West Virginia Racing Commission at its Tuesday morning meeting. In addition to the schedule release, Charles Town announced a 5% overnight purse increase that will take effect on opening night, Thursday, Jan. 2.
Charles Town’s 2025 live racing calendar calls for 160 days of live racing, including a Wednesday-through-Saturday schedule in January, February, November and December, with racing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the remainder of the year. Post time for all but one day on the Charles Town calendar is 7 p.m. Eastern time. Charles Town Classic and Oaks day on Friday, Aug. 22, will have its customary early post time of 5 p.m. EDT.
Charles Town plans to submit its entire 2025 stakes schedule, which will include the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic, Charles Town Oaks (G2), listed Robert Hilton Memorial, Misty Bennett Pink Ribbon and West Virginia Breeders’ Classics card, for approval in the coming weeks.
