The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) shared images of key players such as Shubhman Gill, Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Mohammed Shami sporting the new kit on social media last night.

Earlier, reports claimed that India might not feature the host country’s name on their jersey. Since the Men in Blue are playing all their matches in Dubai, speculations were going on that they would not be supporting the host nation’s name. However, with the official unveiling, it is now clear that ‘Pakistan’ will indeed be imprinted on India’s jersey as per ICC regulations.

The BCCI refused to allow the Indian team to travel to Pakistan due to security reasons, leading the ICC to implement a hybrid model for the tournament. The opening ceremony in Lahore on February 16 saw a notable absence of captains, including Sharma, raising questions about whether they will participate in another scheduled ceremony before the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi.

All eyes are now on the high-stakes India-Pakistan clash set for February 23. The Champions Trophy returns after an eight-year hiatus, with the last edition seeing Pakistan thrash India by 180 runs in the final at The Oval.
