Earlier, reports claimed that India might not feature the host country’s name on their jersey. Since the Men in Blue are playing all their matches in Dubai, speculations were going on that they would not be supporting the host nation’s name. However, with the official unveiling, it is now clear that ‘Pakistan’ will indeed be imprinted on India’s jersey as per ICC regulations.
The BCCI refused to allow the Indian team to travel to Pakistan due to security reasons, leading the ICC to implement a hybrid model for the tournament. The opening ceremony in Lahore on February 16 saw a notable absence of captains, including Sharma, raising questions about whether they will participate in another scheduled ceremony before the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi.
