QATAR. Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has announced its sponsorship of the 28th Commercial Bank Qatar Masters as official duty-free partner in collaboration with the Qatar Golf Association.
Taking place from 6-9 February, the tournament is one of the most prominent events on the European tour. It brings together world-class golfers, reinforcing Qatar’s reputation as a global hub for sports and tourism.
The Doha Golf Club, renowned for its first-rate facilities and course design, will host the prestigious sporting tournament.
QDF’s partnership with the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters began in 2009. In keeping with tradition, its sponsorship will include the highly anticipated Hole-in-One competition at the 13th hole. The winner of the challenge will receive a US$155,000 voucher redeemable at Qatar Duty Free.
Held during February, a month that also celebrates Qatar’s National Sports Day, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters reflects the nation’s passion for sport and its commitment to becoming a destination for sports tourism.
QDF’s involvement extends beyond golf, as it also sponsors other high-profile events including the Qatar Women’s Total Open and the Qatar Men’s ExxonMobil Open. In the coming months, the company will continue its sports sponsorship as the Founding Partner of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Retail and Hospitality Officer Thabet Musleh commented: “We feel honoured to continue supporting an event that brings together global talent and celebrates the unifying spirit of sport. This year, we are proud to play a role in further enhancing the tournament’s legacy alongside our partners, solidifying Qatar’s position as a global hub for sports and tourism.
“Sports has a unique power of bringing people together, aligning with our commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for all our customers worldwide.”
Qatar Golf Association President Hamad Al Mana added: “The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is a cornerstone of our sporting calendar, embodying Qatar’s growing legacy as a premier destination for world-class events. Hosting this milestone 28th edition at Doha Golf Club is a testament to our commitment to excellence in golf.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Qatar Olympic Committee for their unwavering support over the years in making this tournament a resounding success. Their contributions have been instrumental in elevating this event to new heights and showcasing Qatar as a global sports hub.”
Al Mana added: “Together with our partners, we eagerly anticipate welcoming players, fans and the global golf community to this unforgettable celebration of the sport.” ✈
