LAUREL, Mont. – The Carroll College Men’s and Women’s Golf teams each sit in fourth place after two rounds of play at the Beartooth Invitational, hosted by Rocky Mountain College at the Laurel Golf Club.
The Carroll Men (+60) sit fourth in the team competition, trailing the Rocky Mountain (B) team by ten strokes after the first two rounds.
The Men only had one player break 80 in the opening round, Jackson Hammond (Scottsdale, Ariz. / SO) 78 (+6), but saw three different players break 80 in the afternoon round.
Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / FR) had the low round of the day for the Saints at 75 (+3), while Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / FR) and JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / SO) fired second round scores of 77 (+5) and 79 (+7).
Reinke and Hammond are both T-20 at 160 after two rounds to lead the Saints.
The Carroll Women are at +123, trailing Montana Tech by 18 strokes in the team competition.
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / JR), the only uperclassman in the field for the Carroll Women leads the charge on that side of the competition. Claridge is T-10 after two rounds, going 83, 86 (+25). Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) sits at No. 12 in the individual competition after rounds of 88 and 83 (+27), while her twin sister Alli (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) is No. 17 at +34 (95, 83).
Rocky Mountain College leads the event in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions.
Both the Men and Women will return to the course tomorrow morning for final round play.
