Carlos Alcaraz has issued a challenge to Spain to get the ‘job’ done against England in tonight’s Euro 2024 final after he thrashed Novak Djokovic to successfully defend his Wimbledon title.
Last year’s Wimbledon final whet the appetite for another epic clash between Djokovic and Alcaraz on Centre Court 12 months on.
Djokovic steamrolled past Lorenzo Musetti on Friday to reach his 10th Wimbledon final.
But he was up against a 21-year-old who is rapidly improving every month it seems.

Alcaraz started the tournament rusty and struggled at the beginning of matches, but quickly found his feet once again before reaching a second consecutive Wimbledon final.
And there was nothing rusty from the Spaniard at the start of the final against Djokovic as he quickly raced into an early lead.
A shellshocked Djokovic on the other side of the net had no answer for his opponent as he soon found himself two sets down in little over an hour.
No player in Wimbledon finals history has come back from two sets down to win the title in the Open Era.
It was a much-improved display from Djokovic in the third set and he saved three match points to force a tiebreak.
However, Alcaraz proved his class once more by getting the job done and becoming just the sixth man in the Open era to win Wimbledon and the French Open in the same year.
It took Alcaraz just two hours and 27 minutes to wrap up his fourth major title, leaving him plenty of time to get back and watch Spain in the Euro 2024 final against England.
Annabel Croft brought up the Euros final in his on-court interview with the 21-year-old booed before responding.

Alcaraz smiled before answering: “[I will watch] with my team for sure, I don’t know where it’s going to be,” Alcaraz said.
“I’ve already done my job so lets see.
“It’s going to be a difficult match I guess, lets see who is going to win the Euros cup.”
