Shilpa Shetty fitness: If you go through Shilpa Shetty’s profile on social media, you will realise that the actor loves to engage in different kinds of physical activities for overall health and fitness. Sometimes, she is seen working out in the gym, doing insane exercises, and at other times, she takes it slow by performing interesting yoga asanas. A few days ago, she posted a video on Instagram as part of her ‘Monday motivation’ series, in which Shilpa demonstrated a rather physically-exhausting and challenging workout routine, known as ‘gorilla jumps‘. Akin to the movements of the animal, the workout entails doing a series of poses in quick succession, starting with planks, followed by squats with arms stretched out, and repeated. In another variation of the same workout routine, the mother-of-two started the gorilla jumps by sitting in a squat-hop position, with her hands on the floor and her backside in the air. She proceeded to repeat the plank and squat position, as depicted in the video, ultimately panting and short of breath. Take a look.
“Go wild, not mild! #GorillaModeOn,” the actor wrote in the caption accompanying the video. The 49-year-old added that one can ‘unleash [their] inner beast’ with three rounds of gorilla jumps, each lasting 60 seconds, followed by a 60-second rest between the rounds. “This powerful plyometric move boosts agility, explosiveness, and full-body strength, all while firing up your cardiovascular endurance. Incorporate it into your HIIT routine for an intense burn or super-set it with weight training to level up your workout game. Ready to jump into action? Let’s go!” Shilpa wrote.
