PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) – Tax season has started and according to the IRS they have already received millions of returns.
Whether folks have got that return back early or are anxiously awaiting, car dealers are already seeing a slight increase of shoppers ready to make a down payment.
“There’s always people that use their tax returns as down payments. We’ve see some of that but not to a great extent. March April May — that spring market is always an upswing.” says Chris Robinson, Sales Manager at Carroll’s Auto Sales.
“They haven’t been dispersed to everyone yet but as soon as people get the idea that I’m going to get 3,000 dollars back then they start shopping around saying what can I get with 3,000 dollars down People driving through the lots even though it is quite cold out but people still are shopping around a little bit more now” says Griffin Guerrette, General Manager of Dana’s Auto Sales.
Tax returns are due by April 15. Auto sales people expect to see an influx in sales this spring.
