BREWSTER, MA — Let’s be honest, if money is no object there’s no shortage of beautiful, picturesque places to stay on Cape Cod.
However, there’s one that stands above the rest, at least according to Travel + Leisure readers surveyed this year.
The publication recently published their “World’s Best Awards” results for 2024 with major praise for Brewster’s Candleberry Inn.
Candleberry was not only named the world’s 30th best hotel, but also the best inn within the continental U.S.
It was joined in the top five by The Norumbega Inn (#4) in Camden, Maine, meaning that New England had two of the best inns in America. Villa Mara in Carmel-by-the-Sea came in at two while Hotel Walloon in Walloon Lake, Michigan and The Willcox in Aiken, South Carolina, rounded out the top five.
“We’re honored and humbled to be ranked #1 on the Travel + Leisure Readers’ 15 Favorite Inns in the Continental U.S. of 2024 list, thanks to your votes,” Candleberry officials said on social media.
“And not only did you vote us #1 in the U.S., but we are ranked #30 on the list of the best [hotels] in the world among a truly amazing group of properties from 38 different countries.”
Over 186,000 readers participated in the 2024 survey, rating each inn on criteria including rooms and facilities, location, service, food and value.
