Alabama football‘s College Football Playoff hopes took a dive on Saturday in the loss to Oklahoma. But the CFP ship might not have sunk just yet.

Alabama (8-3, 4-3 SEC) picked up its third loss of the season, a 24-3 loss to Oklahoma, so the Crimson Tide’s chances of making the first 12-team playoff look bleak. But according to the All-State Playoff Predictor, there’s still a chance.

The predictor, shown on SEC Network on Saturday night, gives Alabama a 31% chance to make the CFP, which ranks 12th best of any program.

Here are the percentages as of Saturday night, per the predictor:

1. Oregon: greater than 99%
2. Ohio State: greater than 99%
3. Penn State: 99%
4. Indiana: 98%
5. Texas: 96%
6. Notre Dame: 91%
7. Georgia: 90%
8. Miami: 78%
9. Tennessee: 72%
10. Boise State: 72%
11. SMU: 63%
12. Alabama: 31%

The path got much tougher. But there is still a path. And it’s hard to tell what the committee will do.

That answer won’t come for a couple weeks. So for now, Alabama needs to figure out how to fix all that went wrong in the loss to Oklahoma. If the Crimson Tide doesn’t do that, it won’t matter there’s still a 31% chance to make the playoff.

“We’ve got to play better,” Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said. “We’ve got to be better in all ways. Some simple things and characteristic things that happened early in the game where we didn’t get the momentum on our side.
